Good News for Those Who Wonder...´´The Biblical Story in Ninety Pages,´´ is a book for those who feel overwhelmed by their attempts to read the Bible and wonder just what is the core story of that large book. In ninety pages, the author takes his reader through the major biblical events and characters, placing them in historical context. Abraham and the Patriarchs, Moses, Saul, David, Elijah and the other Prophets, Jesus and Paul, march across the stage and leave their mark. This book tells the saga of the Bible without elaboration or interpretation. What readers have said: ´´The whole Bible in under one hundred pages! The whole Bible, including all the major characters and events, both human and divine. . .And those wonderful characters and events follow one upon another, the good, the bad, the ugly, in chronological sequence; or more correctly, flow from one to another so that the story is one continuous whole, never disjointed or broken. The language is exquisite, simple, unpretentious and direct, always a vehicle for capturing the essence of the biblical content. No theological or political axes are ground. 1. Language: English. The biggest story of the election was how the media ignored the biggest story of the election. Amid all the breathless coverage of a nonexistent war on women, there was little or no coverage of Obama´s war on the economy - how, for instance, part-time work is replacing full-time work, how low-wage jobs are replacing high-wage ones, how for Americans between the ages of 25 and 54 there are fewer jobs today than there were when the recession officially ended in 2009, and fewer, in fact, than at any time since mid-1997. The downsizing of the American economy wasn´t the only story the media missed - or suppressed - there was also the unraveling of Obama´s foreign policy and the deadly scandals at home (Fast and Furious) and abroad (the terrorist attack that killed the American ambassador at Benghazi). But instead of serious, substantive journalism, the media reported ad nauseam on trifles (Big Bird), Republican-baiting hysteria (how everything the Republicans said was allegedly ´´racial code´´), and distortions of Romney´s remarks (such as the ´´47 percent´´ comment). The media dropped the ball in covering the 2012 election, says David Freddoso, editorial page editor of the Washington Examiner, and in doing so, the media failed in their responsibility to keep politicians honest and the public well-informed. Freddoso, a New York Times best-selling author and former congressional reporter for National Review, fills this volume not only with outrageous examples of media bias but also with dozens of real stories that genuinely inquisitive reporters should have relished but that the overwhelmingly liberal press didn´t even bother to cover. Full of the news you didn´t hear about in 2012, David Freddoso´s Spin Masters: How the Media Ignored the Real News and Helped Reelect Barack Obama will be the most provocative and accurate take of just how Barack Obama managed to get reelected amid the worst e 1. Ever wonder how politics turned into a take-no-prisoners blood sport? The New York Times best-selling author of Stonewalled pulls back the curtain on the shady world of opposition research and reveals the dirty tricks those in power use to influence your opinions. Behind most major political stories in the modern era, there is an agenda - an effort by opposition researchers, spin doctors, and outside interests to destroy an idea or a person. The tactic they use is the Smear. Every day, Americans are influenced by the Smear without knowing it. Paid forces cleverly shape virtually every image you cross. Maybe you read that Donald Trump is a racist misogynist or saw someone on the news mocking the Bernie Sanders campaign. The trick of the Smear is that it is often based on some shred of truth, but these media-driven ´´hit pieces´´ are designed to obscure the truth. Success hinges on the Smear artist´s ability to remain invisible, to make it seem as if their work is neither calculated nor scripted. It must appear to be precisely what it is not. Veteran journalist Sharyl Attkisson has witnessed this practice firsthand. After years of being pitched hit jobs and puff pieces, she´s an expert at detecting Smear campaigns. Now, the hard-hitting investigative reporter shares her inside knowledge, revealing how the Smear takes shape and who its perpetrators are - including Clinton confidant Sidney Blumenthal and, most influential of all, ´´right-wing assassin turned left-wing assassin´´ (National Review) political operative David Brock and his Media Matters for America empire. Attkisson exposes the diabolical tactics of Smear artists and their outrageous access to the biggest names in political media - operatives who are corrupting the political process and discouraging widespread citizen involvement in our democracy. 1.
